Where are Chris, Gordie, Teddy and Vern now?

The film "Stand By Me" was adapted from Stephen Kings short story "The Body" from his book "Different Seasons" which featured three other stories including "The Shawshank Redemption".
It features four boys who go out in search of the dead body of a boy who was knocked down by a train.
The main stars of the film who played the four boys were Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman and Jerry O'Connell. Kiefer Sutherland, John Cusack and Richard Dreyfuss also appeared in the film.
The film was directed by Rob Reiner and is regarded by many as one of the classic coming-of-age films of all time.
Rob Reiner previously directed such films as "The Sure Thing" in 1985 starring John Cusack and in 1984 "This Is Spinal Tap".

Wil Wheaton, who played Gordie, now lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two kids. He has carried on acting, appearing in many films and the TV series "Star Trek: Next Generation" and in 2004 lended his voice to the computer game "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas".
River Phoenix, who played Chris, appeared in various films including "The Mosquito Coast", "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" and "My Own Private Idaho". In October 1993 he tragically died of drug-induced heart failure outside the Viper Room - a Los Angeles club owned by Johnny Depp.
Corey Feldman, who played Teddy, went on to appear in films including "The Lost Boys", "Licence to Drive" and "Dream a Little Dream". In the early 1990s he was arrested for drugs possession, but after a successful rehabilitation he continued his acting career and he still appears in movies today. Corey is also a keen musician and has released two CDs.
Corey Feldman was the voice of Donatello in the 1993 movie "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles".
Jerry O'Connell, who played Vern, went on to star in various movies but was most famous for starring in the TV series "Sliders" of which he was also producer. Jerry has dated Sarah Michelle Gellar and in 2004 he dated Geri Halliwell when they starred together in the film "The Fat Slags".
Rob Reiner has had a successful Directing career since "Stand By Me", Directing such films as "Misery" also adapted from a book writen by Stephen King, "When Harry Met Sally" starring Billy Crystal & Meg Ryan & "A few Good Men" Starring Tom Cruise.

The opening scene with Richard Dreyfuss sat in his car with the voice over: "I was twelve going on thirteen the first time I saw a dead human being. It happened in the summer of nineteen-fifty-nine. A long time ago. But only if you measure in terms of years. I was living in a small town in Oregon called Castle Rock. There were only 1281 people, but to me it was the whole world..."

"Stand By Me" was the first movie to ever receive a "Restricted" rating in the US solely because of bad language. This was mainly down to the fact that the bad language is spoken by kids.
River Pheonix was originally cast as Daniel Malloy (The Interviewer) in "Interview with a Vampire" just before he died. The part was later given to Christian Slater.
"Stand By Me" beat "Top Gun" off the number One position at the cinema and became the suprise summer hit of 1986.
"Stand By Me" got nominated for best adapted screenplay in 1987.
